Scope
Although the stakeholder group will identify the full scope of their input, the primary topics WDEQ will task the group with considering include:
- designated uses and classifications;
- definitions of recreation designated uses;
- water quality criteria to protect recreation designated uses;
- water quality criteria for turbidity to protect drinking water and aquatic life;
- water quality criteria to protect the drinking water designated use;
- water quality criteria to protect the fish consumption designated use; and
- the implementation policies associated with the surface water quality standards.
Once the stakeholder group process is complete, WDEQ will bring any proposed revisions through the formal rulemaking process, including consideration by the Water and Waste Advisory Board, Environmental Quality Council, Governor, and United States Environmental Protection Agency.
